TAL Token Specification (Summary)

This document briefly summarizes the properties of the TAL token and references the extended specification.

  • Name: TAL (Taler)
  • Role in network: native utility/staking token
  • Address format: SS58 network prefix 10960
  • Usage:
  • Transaction fee payments
  • Staking/nominating validators and receiving rewards
  • Governance (if corresponding Governance pallets are enabled)
  • Issuance and economics:
  • Base issuance and reward distribution are determined by staking logic in the taler runtime (see staking-complete-analysis.md)
  • Supports "vivid staking" mode with additional interest for long-term locking
  • Security and storage:
  • Recommended to use HD wallets, BIP-39 seed phrases and hardware devices

Note: when changing economic parameters or staking logic, it is required to increment spec_version in runtime/src/lib.rs and publish migrations.
